    For many years we have had embedded music in the form of a midi on many of the pages on the website. This worked well for its time, and many of you have written about how much you like the music. Those that did not want to listen could "mute" their sound.

    However, it has come to our attention, that having embedded music makes it impossible for the Programs for the Blind to read the website. If you have read the site, you know that Snow Owl is legally blind (and while he can still see the site, there will come a time when he cannot), so it is important that we change the way the music is offered while viewing the site.

    It will take a little more work on your part to set the music up, but the trade-off will be that you will have a choice of music.

    For those that like the original midi, it will be one of many choices.

    However, we will be adding MP3 files of several Native American artists and artists who play Native American instruments. (SEE ARTISTS AND TITLES)

    These files have been generously offered to us for use on this website. They are not to be reproduced without permission of the artists or record labels. If you want to get their CD's contact them. (SEE CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW).

NOTE: IF your browser is Netscape, you will not have a choice of music, but you can CLICK HERE, and listen to the original midi, by "MINIMIZING" the Pop-up window.

ANOTHER NOTE: We have tried to keep the files down in size for those that do not have DSL. Most are about 2MB. For those WITHOUT DSL it may take 10 MINUTES or so to download a file, so click on "Listen" and then go fix a cup of tea, by the time you come back, you will have music to listen to. OR click on "Listen" then CLICK on the MAIN PAGE BEHIND the Pop-Up--the music will start when the file is downloaded.

For those WITH DSL, files take about 20 seconds to download.

     We at The Nest want to thank all of the artists that have contributed music for this "Music Option". Without the music we would have nothing.

    Most of the music has come from artists who answered an "open email" sent out by a person they did not know (Stone Woman). They not only did not "Delete" the email, but sent their support along with their files and information AND passed the email on to others. Thanks to them and their response, many of you will be listening to some of the best Native American music, we have ever heard.

    Special thanks goes to John De Boer, not only was he the first contributor to our Native American Music section, but he is the person who asked that we might have the Native American music available for listening while viewing the site. He also offered us a choice of his songs, to use.

    Without John, this would still be a "future project". He also connected us with other artists, such as Juan R. Leon. (Read more about John De Boer)

    We also want to mention and thank the Silver Wave Records. Many of these first files being offered are from artists on their label. When I sent my "open email" to Mary Youngblood, she forwarded it to her recording label, Silver Wave records. Their response was immediate and positive.
