COLUMBIAN NATIVES CAUGHT IN US BACKED WAR
For years, the United States has backed a plan to allegedly eliminate
cocaine from being grown and exported from Columbia.
Cocaine is made from the leaf of the coca plant which is sacred to
Indigenous Spiritual Leaders. But outsiders take the plant and and turn
it into cocaine where the huge demand and high prices are the stuff that
millionaire's dreams are made of.
Bombs have killed many Columbian Natives and sent thousands more fleeing
for their lives. For more than 15 years, leaders have tried to work out
a plan where Neutral Zones would provide safe haven for locals who were
not producing coca leaves. But the plans so far have not been
implemented.
According to Lorenzo Hurtado, former Columbian Senator and activist for
his People, "We have (recently)understood that there are political
interests as well as economic interests involved. At this level, they
(the United States Government) ..... make contracts under the pretext of
eradicating the guerillas and the coca leaf. They have these contracts
with huge economic costs, but also with huge political costs; with huge
costs to our identity; with huge costs at all levels."
Meanwhile, back in the USA, the party continues.

MAYAN'S TO PURIFY AFTER BUSH VISIT
According to an AP article written by Juan Carlos Llorca, Mayan Priests
will perform a purification ceremony to remove "bad spirits" from
Iximche, a Sacred Site after a visit by President Bush.
Bush's tour was aimed at combating the rising popularity of Venezuelan
President Hugo Chavez who is providing cheap gasoline to Indigenous
Peoples as well as returning some land to the People who owned it before
the Spaniards invaded.
Bush has called Chavez "history's greatest killer" and "the devil."The
same has been said about the American President.
