BROUGHT TO YOU BY SNOWWOWL.COM A NON-COMMERCIAL NATIVE AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL WEBSITE MIRACLE DIES
October 9, 2003
Susan BatesMiracle, the first white buffalo born since 1933, passed away last month
shortly after her 10th birthday on the Dave and Valerie Heider farm in
Janesville, Wisconsin where she was born. The cause of death remains
unknown and an autopsy wasn't performed. Many tribes believe that the birth of the white buffalo calf heralds the
era of peace and enlightenment. More than 300 tribes and countless
individuals have visited the Heider farm since Miracles birth. In August
over 300 people attended Miracle's 10th birthday party. She was buried
in an unmarked grave. A memorial service will be held at a later date.I've lost track of the number of people who have contacted me about the
death of Miracle. Most of them were concerned that the hope for peace
which the white buffalo calf represented is gone. But I don't think it
is. This world has seen many prophets and signs come and go. The
important thing to remember is that they came and delivered their
message to those who could understand it. The fact that they left us
does not change their purpose or the message. The Miracle of Hope is still alive.
