Many thousands of years ago, there existed in the
middle of the Atlantic ocean, a continent called Atlantis. The best
record we have of its existence is taken from the writings of the Greek
philosopher, Plato, who wrote about a famous Greek statesman named
Solon. In 560 BC, Egyptian priests told Solon about an ancient
civilization called Atlantis that had been destroyed 9000 years earlier.
Plato wrote that Atlantis was located near the Pillars of Hercules,
which we now call the Straight of Gibraltar. He described the
inhabitants of Atlantis as being extremely cultured and wealthy because
their land was very fertile. There were great fields in Atlantis and the
people had constructed vast canals to provide crop irrigation in the
summers and to make travel quicker from the interior of the island to
the ocean. Villages and resorts dotted the mountains which "reached into
the sky." The rulers of Atlantis were very powerful men and dictated
much of the "foreign policy" throughout Europe and Africa. Life was
good.
For thousands of years, the people of Atlantis were upright citizens and
lived moral lives. But slowly, greed and power overwhelmed them, as is
so often the case. The gods were angry and gave many warnings to the
people, but most wouldn't listen. So the island of Atlantis began to
disappear. It is not known what happened (and there is much debate over
whether or not Atlantis even existed at all), but many scholars believe
that earthquakes, volcanoes and perhaps a tsunami finally put an end to
this great civilization.
Did all the people perish or did some heed the warnings and save
themselves? There is a lot of speculation that Atlantians were the
ancestors of other civilizations. Charles Etienne Brasseur de Bourbourg,
a French scholar, wrote about the Mayan culture in his "Quatre Lettres
Sur Le Mexique", in which he puts forth the premise that the
similarities that exist between the Mayans and Ancient Egyptian
civilizations are the result of having common Atlantian ancestors. His
theory is partly based on the
"-tl-" glyph which is found in several Mesoamerican languages such as
Nahuatl, (as well as in the Cherokee language) and in the very word
"A(tl)antis".
Many others have written about the mysterious Atlantis, including Edgar
Cayce who predicted that records of Atlantis will someday be found in
several locations and that portions of Atlantis will rise again from the
ocean.
Be that as it may - whether fact or fiction - I see striking
similarities in what is happening to our country today, from the moral
decay that infects all levels of society to the weather warnings given
(and often ignored) by "Creator."
Prophecies from many nations warn of the earth changes to come. The
Mayan calendar tells us that the year 2012 will be the beginning of a
new cycle. Cherokee call this the beginning of the 5th World - the world
of Spirit. But whatever your people know it by, there are some things we
should be doing in order to get ready.
The climate īs changing. This is not due to man made global warming. The
sun is simply entering a more active phase as it has many times in the
past. According to Mitch Battros of Earth Changes TV, the intense solar
activity heats up the water and adds fuel which intensifies hurricane
activity. The violent hurricanes we are witnessing now and the horrible
destruction of life, property and land, is but a part of this natural
cycle. These intense solar storms, characterized by solar flares and
massive coronal ejections, are often followed by little ice ages. This
has happened over and over again.
Global warming isn't just occurring here on earth. The following is from
an article released by the BBC on September 20: "New images of Mars
suggest the red planet's surface is more active than previously thought,
the US space agency NASA has announced. New photographs from NASA's
orbiting spacecraft, Mars Global Surveyor, show new impact craters and
gullies. The agency's scientists also say that deposits of frozen carbon
dioxide near the planet's south pole have shrunk for three summers in a
row. 'They say these changes suggest climate change is in progress.' "
