TURTLE TALK
WHEN I DANCE

In honor I greet you and am blessed because of you.

     From the first beat of the drum my spirit awakens in prayer, my feet echo the heart beat of the mother and the drum.

     I am in harmony with my relations, and with each beat I am carried closer to the creator.

     My prayers rise before me shimmering reverberating to the sound.

     Within my being the healing begins, I feel the energy of creation fill my spirit.

     My thoughts become the prayer, the prayer becomes my strength, and within I am changed, my spirit is cleansed and made new, my heart beats stronger, the power of creation is infused in each step and my mind becomes filled with the voices of my ancestors as they too are called to the drum, together we dance, together we heal, together we pray.

As the drum falls silent and my dance is done there is a moment of sadness as I leave the sacred circle but it is only a moment for my spirit is well fed and all is as it should be.

May I honor the paths of my ancestors, and bring wisdoms to those who will follow.
