On Feb. 11th, Longest Walk participants
will embark on a 5 month walking journey from San Francisco
to Washington, D.C. arriving on July 11th in Washington D.C.
It is an extraordinary grassroots effort on a national level
to bring attention to the environmental disharmony of Mother
Earth, sacred site issues, and to commemorate the 30th
anniversary of the original longest walk.
The Longest Walk south route (See Southern Itinerary[ flashLongWalkintro.html ])
is being led by AIM co-founder Dennis J. Banks. The Southern
route is through 11 states, including California, Arizona,
New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi,
Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia.
The Northern route (See Northern itinerary) is through 12
states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado,
Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia,
Pennsylvania and Maryland.This information came
