I hope you are well, Snow Owl. Thank you for this beautiful resource. I was researching and found Sioux Nation flags to add to my genealogy tree for my cousin, adopted into our extended family and born of the Sioux peoples. Blessings to his family from his family......
I see that Snow Owl passed to the other side in 2006. Blessings to him for this site and those who continue it.

I have great empathy for the indigenous peoples around the world and the great injustices perpetrated by the so-called "civilised" colonial powers. I believe eventually, justice will be served by our creator, Jehovah, the great spirit.

I very much enjoyed your web site. It was very informative. I really appreciate the pictures of some of your chiefs and their stories. I am Black, but in the 1500's when the Spanish came to what is now Virginia, my ancestors lived where I am from, Charles City. They were believed to be Eno, distant counsins to the Sioux People. My mother and grandfather have/had the facial features as some of your pictures. They both have/had the unmistakable nose, high cheekbones, and small eyes. My grandfather's hair was very beautiful as your people. I believe you and I have some of the same ancestors...Lovie Craddock

My grandfather was fullblood Choctaw, my grandmother was Irish/English. I inherited my looks from his dark brown hair, and also blessed with his dark brown eyes....From both of them I inherited an olive color skin which easily turns which easily turns deep reddish brown like the clay of the earth in the summer months. Most definatley a trait passed on to me by my mother and grandparents. So proud of my Choctaw heritage!!! I love this website!!!.
